With all the new changes in technology, there are some exciting developments at Woodland Veterinary Hospital. We have upgraded our x-ray machine to a digital machine that is linked to a computer system. This new radiograph technology uses the same x-ray beam to capture an image digitally that is then routed to a computer screen for viewing. The benefits of this technology are several fold.
Because the x-ray image is captured and viewed on the monitor almost instantly, if the patient moves or we do not get the view we wanted, the technicians know right away to take another image. And because these radiographic images are digital, they can be downloaded to a disc making it easier to send a copy with the client for referral when requested as well.
The other big benefit to digital imaging is that we no longer need to develop radiographs on x-ray film.
