Children and pets can be a wonderful combination! Often a pet is a child's best friend. We believe that there is no better time time to teach about pet care, responsibility, safety and kindness to animals than during the school years.
Woodland Veterinary Hospital has been providing educational programs for local schools, groups and clubs since 2003. These are interactive, age-appropriate presentations that are available at No charge. We have developed presentations for children from preschool-age to high school. For the young ones her "Pet Care and Safety" program incorporates music, games and puppets and everyone gets an activity booklet. For the teens' "Careers in Veterinary Medicine" presentation she brings veterinary equipment, hospital supplies, interesting visuals and sometimes a power point presentation.
We at Woodland Veterinary Hospital believe in giving back to our community, and teaching children is one of the ways that we can do this.
