During the summer and during school breaks Woodland Veterinary Hospital opens its door to youth for some FREE classes right here! What better way for young animal lovers to get an idea of what a career in the animal health care field is like?
Our VSI For Kids class is open to students ages 10 through 12. The VSI (Veterinary Science Investigation) for TEENS class is for students ages 13 and older. These classes lay a foundation of basic knowledge and build upon that with each successive meeting. Students get hands-on experience, doing such things as cleaning pet's ears and brushing their teeth, training a dog, using the microscope and making slides. They also get to observe wellness exams, spays and neuters and other surgeries, dental cleaning, ultrasound procedures, x-rays, grooming and many activities that occur here in the daily function of the hospital.
